Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing technique designed to enhance and define eyebrows. It involves using a fine, hand-held blade to create hair-like strokes that mimic the appearance of natural brow hairs. The pigment is implanted just beneath the skin’s surface, resulting in fuller, more defined brows that last 1 to 3 years with proper care.

Machine shading in PMU (Permanent Makeup) refers to a technique used in cosmetic tattooing to create soft, gradient-like shading effects. It is commonly used for procedures like:
Ombre/Powder Brows – A soft, powdered makeup look with a gradient effect.
Combination Brows- A Permanent Makeup technique that combines Microblading and Shading to create a natural yet defined brow.
How It Works
A PMU machine (similar to a tattoo machine but more delicate) is used with a fine needle to deposit pigment into the skin in layers.
Instead of creating hair-like strokes (as in microblading), shading involves small, controlled dots or pixelated patterns to build up color gradually.
The result is a soft, airbrushed look rather than individual lines.

Microblading is perfect for anyone who:
✔️ Has thin, sparse, or uneven brows.
✔️ Wants to enhance their natural brows without daily makeup.
✔️ Suffers from hair loss due to aging, alopecia, or over-plucking.
✔️ Desires a customized brow shape that complements their face. -
Microblading typically lasts between 12 to 24 months, but the longevity depends on several factors:
Factors That Affect Microblading Longevity
Skin Type:
Oily Skin → Fades faster (around 12 months) since excess oil pushes pigment out.
Dry/Normal Skin → Lasts longer (closer to 18-24 months).
Aftercare:
Following proper healing (avoiding water, sweat, and sun exposure during the healing process) helps retention.
Touch Ups
Annual Touch-Ups – Every 12 to 18 Months
✔ Refreshes the color and definition as the pigment naturally fades.
✔ Helps maintain shape and sharpness.
✔ Prevents brows from fading unevenly.Do You Always Need Touch-Ups?
If you want to maintain the brows long-term, yes, yearly touch-ups are recommended.
If you let them fade completely, you'll need a full microblading session again.
